Die „Glasurtechnik“, die ich schon bei diesen Karten angewandt habe, musste ich auch noch mit anderen transparenten Embossingpulvern (anders als Distress Glaze) ausprobieren. Hat recht gut geklappt.

I wanted to try the „glaze technique“ I did on these cards with other transparent embossing powders as well (other than Distress Glaze). Went quite well.

Den Hintergrund habe ich mit Ink Sprays und Wasser auf Aquarellpapierpanels gemacht.

I did the background with ink sprays and water on watercolour paper panels.

Nachdem alles getrocknet war, habe ich Texturpaste (weiß, matt und opak) durch eine Schablone auf das Panel aufgetragen und gleich darauf mit dem Embossingpulver bestreut. Mit dem Heat Tool habe ich das Pulver zum Schmelzen und die Paste zum Trocknen und Aufquellen gebracht.

After everything was dry, I applied texture paste (white, matte, opaque) through a stencil onto the panel and sprinkled embossing powder over the still wet paste. With my heat tool, I melted the powder and at the same time, dried the paste and made it bubble up.

Dann habe ich mich dem Blickfang der Karte gewidmet: dem Einhorn. Ich habe es mit Memento Tuxedo Black (einer alkoholmarkerfreundlichen Tinte) gestempelt, mit Chameleon Pens koloriert und mit den dazugehörigen Stanzen ausgeschnitten.

Next, I turned to the card’s focal point: the unicorn. I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black (an alcohol marker-friendly ink), coloured it with Chameleon Pens, and die-cut it with the coordinating dies.

Obwohl man durch diese Art von Stanzen gut durchsieht, kann es dennoch etwas kniffelig sein, die Stanze wirklich exakt zu platzieren. Eine Hilfe ist es, wenn man aus einem Stück Cardstock „leer“ ausstanzt (also ohne Stempelmotiv) und das Negativ (den Stanzrest sozusagen) als Schablone verwendet. Da ich meine Motive meistens sowieso mehrfach ausstanze (einmal mit Stempelmotiv, die anderen Male „leer“), um Dimension zu erzeugen, entsteht dabei nicht einmal viel Abfall.

These open dies are see-through anyway but still, perfect placement of the die can be tricky. It helps if you die-cut the shape from a piece of cardstock and use the negative like a template. I die-cut my motives several times anyway (to create dimension), so this method even isn’t too wasteful.

Wie schon erwähnt, habe ich mein Motiv mehrfach ausgestanzt und die einzelnen Teile mit einer Klebstoffschicht dazwischen aufeinandergestapelt. Zusammen mit etwas Washi Tape und einem Spruch, den ich am Computer generiert und auf Cardstock ausgedruckt habe, habe ich alles auf das Panel geklebt.

As mentioned above, I die-cut my unicorn several times and stacked the die-cuts, with glue between each layer. Together with some washi tape and the sentiment I created on my computer and printed on cardstock, I adhered it onto the panel.

Das Panel wiederum habe ich mit Flüssigkleber auf einer Klappkarte angebracht.
