Obwohl das Blumenmotiv für diese Karte mit Maskierungstechnik entstanden ist, musste ich ausnahmsweise keine Masken ausschneiden – weil es zu diesem Stempelset praktischerweise fertige Masken aus Kunststoff gibt, die man immer wieder verwenden kann.

Although the masking technique was involved in creating the flower image, I didn’t have to cut out masks – because there are coordinating masks available for this stamp set. The masks are made from plastic, you can use them over and over again.

Für das Blumenmotiv habe ich ein Layering-Stempelset von Altenew verwendet. Wie gesagt gibt es dazu ein Set mit Masken (und Schablonen), was praktisch und zeitsparend ist.

I used three shades of yellow for the stamen and the carpel.

Mit etwas wiederablösbarem Klebstoff habe ich anschließend die Maske genau über der fertigen Blüte angebracht.

I used non permanent adhesive to cover the finished bloom with the mask.

Dann habe ich ein Blatt in drei Grüntönen über die maskierte Blume gestempelt.

Next, I stamped a leaf in three shades of green on top of the flower.

Anschließend habe ich sowohl die erste Blume als auch das Blatt maskiert und eine weitere Blume aufgestempelt.

I masked the first flower as well as the leaf and stamped a second flower.

Bevor ich den Hintergrund in einem sehr hellen Grauton stempeln konnte, musste ich beide Blumen und das Blatt erneut maskieren.

Before I could stamp the background using a very light shade of gray, I had to mask both flowers and the leaf again.

Will man einen guten Abdruck mit einem großen Hintergrundstempel erzielen, drückt man nicht den Stempel auf das Papier, sondern macht es genau umgekehrt: Man legt den Stempel vor sich hin, färbt ihn ein und drückt dann das Papier auf den Stempel. Damit man keine Farbe auf die Finger bekommt, kann man ein Stück Schmierpapier als Abdeckung verwenden.

If you want to get a good impression from a big background stamp, you don’t press the stamp onto the paper but the other way round: You lay down the stamp in front of you, ink it up, and then press the papier onto the stamp. To avoid getting colour on your fingers, cover everything with a scrap of paper.

Das Panel, das erst genauso groß war wie die Klappkarte, habe ich auf allen Seiten um wenige Millimeter beschnitten und mit doppelseitigem Klebeband auf der Karte befestigt. So bleibt ein schmaler Rand rund um das Panel stehen.

The panel was the same size as the note card, so I trimmed off a bit on each side and used double-sided tape to adhere the panel on the card. This way, you can easily create a fine border around the panel.
