Die Corona-Pandemie kann den Osterhasen nicht aufhalten – jedenfalls nicht auf dem Postweg. Diese Karten habe ich bereits Anfang der Woche verschickt, damit sie auch zeitgerecht im Isolationsosternest landen können.

The Corona pandemic can’t stop the Easter bunny – at least not if he comes with the mail. I sent these cards in the beginning of this week so they reach their destination within time.

Die Karten sehen sich alle zwar sehr ähnlich, sind aber immer in mindestens einem Detail verschieden. Eine Karte ist mit Farbstiften koloriert, die anderen mit Alkoholmarkern. Manche haben einen aufschablonierten Hintergrund, manche nicht. Bei manchen glänzen alle Eier, bei manchen nur Teile davon.

The cards are quite similar but they differ in one detail at least. I coloured one card with coloured pencils and the rest with alcohol markers. Some feature a stenciled background, some don’t. On some cards, all the eggs are shiny, on some just parts of them.

How to

Zuerst habe ich mit Lineal und Bleistift den Mittelpunkt der Panels ermittelt und markiert, damit ich den Hasen direkt in die Mitte stempeln konnte.

First, I used a ruler and a pencil to find and mark the center of the panel so I could stamp the bunny right in the middle.

Zum Stempeln habe ich Memento Tuxedo Black verwendet, eine markerfreundliche Tinte.

I used Memento Tuxedo Black, a marker-friendly ink.

Danach habe ich rund um den Hasen Eier aufgestempelt.

Next, I stamped eggs all around the bunny.

Dann habe ich Masken für jedes Ei und den Hasen gemacht.

I made masks for all eggs and the bunny.

Um den Hasen habe ich dann eine Art Wiese gemacht, indem ich alles maskiert und danach mit einer Blending Brush ein Distress Oxide-Grün aufgetragen habe. Gearbeitet habe ich auf der Mini Media Mat, einer kleinen Matte aus Silikon, die nicht nur selbst rutschfest ist, sondern auch Papier, das auf ihr liegt, festhält.

I created kind of a meadow around the bunny by masking off everything and using a blending brush to apply a Distress Oxide green. I worked on the Mini Media Mat, a small silicone mat which is not only nonslip but also holds paper perfectly in place.

Auf einige Panels habe ich zusätzlich noch ein wenig Paste aufschabloniert – einmal eine transparente und einmal eine weiße Variante.

I applied texture paste (one time a transparent one, one time a white one) onto some panels through stencils.

Dann habe ich koloriert – wie eingangs bereits erwähnt mit Farbstiften und Alkoholmarkern.

Next, I coloured the images – as said before, I used coloured pencils and alcohol markers.

Auf das kleine Schild, das der Hase hält, habe ich „Frohe Ostern“ gestempelt.

I stamped „Happy Easter“ onto the little sign that the bunny is holding up.

Bei einer Karte habe ich auf alle Eier eine Schicht Glossy Accents aufgetragen. Das sorgt für Dimension und Glanz.

For one card, I applied a layer of Glossy Accents to every egg. This gives them lots of dimension and shine.

Bei anderen Karten habe ich mit einem Glaze Pen gearbeitet und nur Details der Eier mit einer Schicht Glanz überzogen.

For other cards, I worked with a Glaze Pen and only gave some details a coat of shine.

Um das Panel einzurahmen, habe ich die Ränder der Klappkarten mit demselben Grün, das ich auch für den Hintergrund verwendet habe, eingefärbt. Am einfachsten geht das mit einem Blending Tool, das einen satten Farbauftrag ermöglicht.

I framed the panel with colour: I applied the same green ink I used for the background onto the edges of the note card. Using a blending tool makes this fast and easy.

Die Panels habe ich dann auf allen Seiten etwas beschnitten, bevor ich sie auf die Klappkarten geklebt habe.

I trimmed all edges of the panels before I adhered them to the note cards.
