Ich bin großer Fan von Vicky Papaioannou und ihren Mixed-Media-Projekten, und weil sie mit der aktuellen Art by Marlene-Kollektion Großartiges gemacht habe, musste ich ein paar Dinge aus besagter Kollektion unbedingt haben. Diese Karten sind damit gemacht.
I’m a big fan of Vicky Papaioannou and her mixed media projects. She did some great things with the newest Art by Marlene collection, and naturally, I had to get parts of said collection. These cards feature some die-cuts and quotes by Art by Marlene.
How to
Die Hintergründe habe ich mit Acrylfarben gemacht, zwei in Pink und Gelb, zwei in Blau und Grün. Auf je einem A5-Blatt Mixed-Media-Papier habe ich ein paar Tupfer Acrylfarbe mit einem halbtrockenen Feuchttuch aufgetragen, das Ganze trocknen lassen und dann in der Mitte mit meinem Papierschneider geteilt, um insgesamt vier A6-Panels zu erhalten.
I used acrylic paints to make the backgrounds – two in pink and yellow, two in blue and green. I applied a bit paint onto two A5 sheets of mixed media paper and spread the colour with half dried baby wipes. After the colours were dry, I used my paper trimmer to cut the sheets in half and ended up with four A6 panels.
Aus zwei Stanzblöcken habe ich farblich passende Stanzteile gelöst und mir überlegt, was an Pasten, Farben und Schablonen dazu passen könnte.
I chose die-cuts from two die cut blocks and tried to find matching pastes, colours, and stencils from my stash.
Mit Blending Brushes habe ich Distress Oxides durch verschiedene Schablonen aufschabloniert.
I used blending brushes to apply some Distress Oxides through a stencil.
Dann habe ich noch verschiedene Pasten aufgetragen, erneut durch Schablonen.
Next, I added different pastes to the panels – again through stencils.
Einige Panels habe ich auch noch bestempelt. Um möglichst flüchtige bzw. unperfekte Abdrücke zu erzielen, habe ich für den Cling-Stempel keinen Acrylblock benutzt, sondern einfach von Hand gestempelt.
I also stamped some of the panels. To achieve imperfect impressions, I didn’t use an acrylic block but stamped directly with the cling stamp.
Aus einem Stickerblock von Art by Marlene habe ich ein paar Zitate gelöst und aufgeklebt, genauso wie die Stanzteile. Die Stanzteile habe ich übrigens zuvor noch etwas bearbeitet: Ich habe Distress Oxide Vintage Photo mit einem Blending Tool an ihren Kanten aufgetragen.
Die Panels habe ich mit Flüssigkleber auf fertige Klappkarten geklebt.
I chose some sentiments from a sticker block by Art by Marlene and stuck them down. I also adhered the die-cuts. By the way, I prepared the die-cuts first: On their edges, I applied some Distress Oxide Vintage Photo with a blending tool.
I applied the panels onto pre-fold note cards with some strong liquid glue.
Den letzten Schliff habe ich den Karten mit einem weißen Gelpen bzw. einem schwarzen Marker verpasst: Ich habe z. B. die Zitate und teilweise die Stanzteile eingerahmt, auf ein Stanzteil habe ich auch Highlights gesetzt.
I finished off the cards by using a white gel pen resp. a black marker. I drew frames around the quotes and some of the die-cuts, and I made some highlights directly on one die-cut.
