Wahrsagerkatze / Fortune Teller Tabby

Dinge sind wesentlich schneller gekauft als benutzt – aber jetzt habe ich es endlich geschafft, dieses herzige Stempelset, das für sich alleine genauso funktioniert wie als Add-on zum Lawn Fawn Reveal Wheel, auszuprobieren: die Fortune Teller Tabby, die Wahrsagerkatze.

Things are bought fast, using them takes time. But finally, I managed to play with this adorable stamp set that works alone as well as a Lawn Fawn Reveal Wheel Add-on: the Fortune Teller Tabby.

Glasiertes Danke / Glazed Thank You

Über noch feuchte Texturpaste – in diesem Fall weiß und matt – wird transparentes Embossingpulver gestreut und erhitzt. Die Paste dehnt sich unter der Hitze aus und schlägt fast Blasen, das Embossingpulver schmilzt und legt sich wie eine glänzende Glasur über die Textur.

You sprinkle transparent embossing powder over still wet texture paste – in this case white and matte – and use a heat gun over it. The heat will make the paste bubble up and the embossing powder melt. You end up with a shiny glaze over the texture.

Vatertag / Father’s Day

Zum Vatertag wollten meine Kinder ihrem Papa eine Karte schenken – machen sollte sie allerdings ich. Also habe ich eine CAS-Karte (clean and simple) gebastelt, auf der der Papa (der große Vogel) und die beiden Kinder (die kleinen Küken) die Stars sind.

For Father’s Day, my kids wanted to give a card to their dad – but they wanted me to make it. So I created a CAS card (clean and simple), featuring dad (the big bird) and the kids (the little chicken).

Alkoholtinten und Aquarellfarben harmonieren prächtig, finde ich. Beides ist bei dieser Karte zum Einsatz gekommen.

In my opinion, alcohol inks and watercolours go very well together. I used both for this card.

Anemonen / Anemones

Vor einigen Monaten wurde ich gebeten, ein Kartenset in der Schachtel zu machen, als Geburtstagsgeschenk. Also habe ich insgesamt sechs verschiedene Karten gemacht, jeweils zwei im selben Stil, zu diversen Anlässen. Diese zwei Karten – eine Dankeskarte und eine Glückwunschkarte – sind Teil besagten Sets.

A few months ago, I was asked to make a set of cards in a box as a gift. So I made six different cards in total: three pairs of two coordinating cards. These cards – a thank you card and a card for any occasion – are part of said set.

I call these three mixed media cards Wilde Cards because they all feature a quote by Oscar Wilde. And wild animals, of course.

CAS: Fruchtige Sets / CAS: Fruity Sets

Gleich zwei Kartensets zu je vier Karten hat eine simple Grundidee, die ich achtmal leicht variiert habe, ergeben. Gemacht waren diese CAS-Karten („clean and simple“) im Handumdrehen.

One simple idea which I slightly varied eight times resulted in two sets of cards (found cards per set). These CAS cards („clean and simple“) are made in a jiffy.

Ein wenig stempeln, ein wenig schneiden, ein wenig kleben – und fertig.

A bit of stamping, a bit of cutting, a bit of adhering – done.

Dass die Karten dennoch besonders sind, liegt einerseits an der Farbkombination und andererseits an den wirklich tollen Layering-Stempeln von Sunny Studios. Die Erdbeeren und Kirschen wirken ziemlich fotorealistisch, oder?

Simple as they may be, the cards look quite special. On the one hand, this is because of the colour scheme, and on the other hand it’s because of the fabulous layering stamps by Sunny Studios. The strawberries and cherries do look very photo-realistic, don’t they?

Alkoholtinten-Trio / Alcohol Ink Trio

Alkoholtinten eignen sich hervorragend dazu, um im Handumdrehen hübsche Hintergründe zu zaubern. Das ideale „Papier“ für diese Tinten ist allerdings aus Kunststoff und eher auf der hochpreisigen Seite: Es nennt sich Yupo Paper, ist seidig-glatt und nicht porös.

Alcohol inks are perfect for creating fast and pretty backgrounds. The ideal „paper“ for these inks is actually synthetic and quite expensive. It’s called yupo paper, silky and soft to the touch, and non-porous.

Kein Hintergrund ist wie der andere, und eine Vielzahl von Techniken machen das Arbeiten mit Alkoholtinten zum abwechslungsreichen Vergnügen.

No background is the same, and the numerous techniques make working with alcohol inks real fun.

How to

Neben den Tinten und dem Yupo Paper empfiehlt es sich, auch eine alkoholische Lösung und/oder Haushaltsalkohol parat zu haben. Warum? Erkläre ich gleich.

Besides from inks and yupo paper, it’s good to have alcohol blending solution and/or rubbing alcohol. Why? I’ll explain.
